We had some leftover gas from the cave project and on the way back to Hurghada we stopped in the approximate location of the wreck,"El Quamar Il Saudi il Masri. We used our depth sounder in the only area south of Siyal Island that has a depth of 80m. El Quammar Il Saudi Il Masri.

About two weeks ago we came across a report that divers have been on a ferry that went down in 1994 close to Hurghada, "El Quammar Il Saudi Il Masri". After reading the report and some enquiries about the accident we decided to spend some time looking for the wreck on the way back from the Ras Mohamad 130m Cave dive project that we did last week. (a full report and video of the 130 m Dive Cave project can be found at www.redseaexplorers.com)
We had some leftover gas from the cave project and on the way back to Hurghada we stopped in the approximate location of the wreck,"El Quamar Il Saudi il Masri. We used our depth sounder in the only area south of Siyal Island that has a depth of 80m. As something showed up on our sounder we noticed a buoy about two meters under the surface. We figured the previous team had installed it like that so as not to be spotted by other interested divers.
We marked the location and had two great dives on it. It is a beautiful wreck. It offers great possibility for penetration and is spectacularly huge. During both our dives we spent time both inside and outside. You can see from the videos below that the dives were a lot of fun.
The first dive was conducted by Andrew Georgitsis: www.5thd-x.com Rob Calkins: GUE instructor, NAUI Tek Instructor Faisal Khalaf: Red Sea Explorers Dive Team
